Research and Development Engineer Intern

Position at the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) in the Mission Systems Department. The role supports complex system development across hypersonic systems, unmanned platforms, advanced manufacturing, and supply‑chain logistics.

• Perform systems modeling and analysis
• Develop requirements, architecture definitions, and system designs
• Develop and perform system tests
• Develop prototype systems including mechanical, electrical, and/or software subsystems

• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Experience in providing clear written concepts to diverse audiences

• Hands‑on experience with design, simulation, and testing
• Model-Based Systems Engineering training and experience
• Familiarity with systems engineering fundamentals

Secret clearance required, or the ability to obtain one.

Full‑on‑site in State College, PA.

Successful completion of background check(s), drug screening, and U.S. citizenship required.
