Civil/Structural Cad Designer I

Lake Superior Consulting is seeking a Civil/Structural Cad Designer to join our growing team! Cad Designer (Civil/Structural) We are seeking a Cad Designer with experience supporting engineering and construction projects through 2D drafting, 3D modeling, and construction document development. This role partners with engineers to deliver issued for bid (ifb) and issued for construction (ifc) drawing packages across civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical projects.

Key responsibilities include developing and modifying 2D drawings and 3D models using autocad and autodesk tools, producing construction documents, bid sets, and detailed design packages, creating layouts, schematics, grading plans, and structural details, coordinating with engineering, design, and project teams, applying cad standards, qa/qc processes, and drafting best practices, managing drawing revisions, redlines, and document control, and supporting design calculations and technical problem-solving.

Required qualifications include an associate degree in civil, structural, architectural, or engineering technology (or equivalent experience), 3+ years of cad drafting/design experience in a project-based environment, strong proficiency in civil and structural 3d modeling, autocad, civil 3d, plant 3d, or cadworx, experience with site design and grading, construction drawings and plan sets, structural detailing (steel and/or concrete), and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Bonus qualifications include experience in oil & gas, industrial, or infrastructure projects, knowledge of survey data processing, and familiarity with multi-discipline project coordination. The actual starting salary will be determined based on a variety of factors, including your skills, experience, and office/market location. The anticipated salary/hourly range for this position is $27 – $35 per hour.
