* Conduct motor testing, including cycle and stall testing, and accurately record performance data.
* Perform ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) testing and other standardized evaluations in accordance with defined procedures.
* Follow established test procedures with clear pass/fail criteria and ensure consistent, repeatable test execution.
* Build, modify, and rework hardware prototypes to support design iterations and functional verification.
* Perform soldering and assembly of electronic components with attention to quality and reliability.
* Troubleshoot hardware, circuits, and test setups to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
* Collaborate closely with engineers on design iteration, providing feedback from testing and prototype builds.
* Document test results clearly and thoroughly using Microsoft Office tools, ensuring accurate records for engineering review.
* Assist with light mechanical assembly and lab setup, including organizing equipment and maintaining a functional workspace.
* Use lab equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other test tools to characterize circuit behavior and product performance.
* Interpret and work from schematics to build test setups, verify connections, and support circuit diagnostics.
Essential Skills
* Associate's degree in Electronics or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience with electronics testing and soldering.
* Fundamental understanding of electronics principles and circuit behavior.
* Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics accurately.
* Experience with multimeters, oscilloscopes, and common lab test equipment.
* Experience building test setups or mechanical assemblies in a lab environment.
* Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware, circuits, and test configurations.
* Ability to work independently and effectively in a lab-based setting.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office for documenting test procedures, results, and reports.
* Hands-on experience with electronics testing, circuit testing, and electronics prototyping.
* Comfort working directly with lab equipment and test instrumentation.
Additional
Skills & Qualifications
* Experience performing ESD testing and other standardized product evaluations.
* Experience with electromechanical systems and motor testing, including cycle and stall testing.
* Experience in electronics testing for product development or smart building technologies.
* Ability to support light mechanical assembly and lab setup tasks.
* Strong collaboration skills to work closely with cross-functional engineering teams.
* Attention to detail and a methodical approach to following test procedures and documenting outcomes.
Work Environment
This role is fully onsite in a lab-based environment focused on early- to mid-stage product development for smart building technologies. You work primarily at the bench with electronic and electromechanical hardware, using tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other lab equipment to perform testing and troubleshooting. The setting is collaborative, with regular interaction with engineers and other technical staff, and emphasizes hands-on work, careful documentation, and continuous improvement.
The organization offers enhanced benefits, paid time off, and a holiday schedule aligned with the company's calendar. Dress code is typical for a technical lab environment, prioritizing safety and practicality while working with electronic components and test equipment.
