Manufacturing Engineer I
The Manufacturing Engineer I (ME I) applies the knowledge of engineering principles to support the production of curtain wall systems and components. Under close supervision, the ME I learns and supports manufacturing processes through review and integration within all departments, including production, design and engineering, operations, logistics, and field installation. The ME I provides production support through review and analysis of curtain wall design, assembly, and manufacturing tooling.
Role and Responsibilities:- Learn curtain wall design, fabrication, and assembly fundamentals.
- Support development and implementation of manufacturing processes for curtain wall systems and components based on project specifications.
- Assist with review of curtain wall unit designs, configuration sheets, and drawings to understand project-specific constraints.
- Support development of build sequencing, project planning, and manufacturing workflows.
- Assist with design and fabrication of typical curtain wall tooling, fixtures, and shop aides to improve efficiency.
- Provide production support through review and analysis of designs, assemblies, and tooling.
- Read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
- Support process improvement initiatives throughout all phases of the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate with production, operations, engineering, logistics, and field teams as needed.
- Use training and mentorship to further develop technical and professional skills.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and Inventor or Solid Works required.
- Familiarity with 3D printing technology preferred.
- Strong general computer skills (MS Office, email, engineering systems).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Performs technical work and project tasks under direction.
- Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.
- Ability to stand and walk the manufacturing floor as needed.
Education Requirements:
- 0-3 years related experience, curtain wall/façade experience preferred
- Bachelor in Engineering or related field required.
