Eaton's Protection, Control & Solutions Group is currently seeking a Senior Controls Engineer. This is a hybrid position (3 days on-site, 2 days remote per week) based at our Moon Township, PA location. We are offering relocation and sponsorship assistance for candidates who reside within the U.S.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $94000 - $138000 a year.

As a Senior Controls Engineer, you'll be a key contributor to the design and development of advanced control systems powering Eaton's next-generation circuit protection products.

What you'll do:

* Design and develop model-based control systems (MATLAB/Simulink) for cutting-edge power electronic applications

* Translate models into production-ready solutions using auto-code generation and embedded C/C++ integration

* Validate and refine control strategies through Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) and real-time embedded testing

* Work hands-on with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, embedded systems, etc.) to bring designs to life

* Collaborate with a cross-functional team of engineers, researchers, and product experts to deliver innovative solutions

* Drive projects forward-owning timelines, deliverables, and technical outcomes

* Contribute to intellectual property and next-gen technology development

What we're looking for:

We're looking for engineers who are passionate about control systems and enjoy bridging simulation, software, and hardware.

Core experience:

* Model-based design using MATLAB/Simulink

* Experience with HiL systems or real-time simulation/validation

* Embedded systems knowledge (C/C++ or firmware integration)

* Strong understanding of controls theory and system modeling

Qualifications:

Required (Basic)

Qualifications:

* Bachelors degree in engineering from an accredited institution

* Minimum 2 years of engineering experience in designing, developing or testing power system analysis or motor controls.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience in utilizing test equipment such as oscilloscopes

* Experience with DFSS tools

* Master's degree in electrical/computer engineering from an accredited institution

* Experience with Matlab/Simulink

* Experience C/C++ for embedded systems

* Experience working with power electronic and power systems or motor controls

Position Criteria:

* Strong understanding of electrical power systems and power electronics

* General knowledge of industrial circuit breaker design, requirements, and applications

* Proficiency/working knowledge of hardware in the loop (HiL) systems

* Proficiency working in real time embedded operating systems
