Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to define and maintain mechanical design requirements, support electrical engineering integration efforts, and drive solutions throughout the product lifecycle. Perform detailed mechanical design, engineering analysis, and troubleshooting activities to support both new product development and sustaining engineering initiatives. Lead sustaining engineering efforts by investigating product performance issues, identifying root causes, implementing corrective actions, and validating design improvements.

Define, execute, and analyze validation and verification test plans to ensure products meet performance, reliability, quality, and compliance requirements. Design, develop, and maintain test fixtures, test rigs, and laboratory equipment to support product validation, qualification, and sustaining engineering activities. Create and maintain accurate 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, bills of materials, and technical documentation in accordance with company standards. Identify product and process improvement opportunities, develop business and technical justifications, gain stakeholder alignment, and validate implemented solutions to achieve expected outcomes.

Participate in Voice of Customer activities and provide recommendations for product specifications, features, and design improvements based on customer needs and field feedback. Plan and coordinate project activities, manage priorities, meet project milestones, and deliver high-quality engineering work products. Prepare clear, concise, and accurate technical reports, test summaries, engineering evaluations, and design documentation. Present technical analyses, project updates, test results, and engineering recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.

Conduct peer reviews and provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering co-ops, interns, and less experienced engineers. Support intellectual property activities, including invention disclosures, patent evaluations, and patent application development as needed. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product quality, reliability, manufacturability, and engineering processes.

Knowledge of manifold design, gas delivery, vibration, shock, pneumatics, and control logic.

Education and Experience

Required:

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, or related discipline, preferably from an ABET-accredited program This position is available at two different career levels based upon experience, education, etc.:
Staff II: 2 years relevant experience Staff III: 3+ years relevant experience MS degree may be substituted for up to 2 years of relevant experience. Experience with SAP Engineering and manufacturing document control or similar MRP type system Education and Experience Preferred:
Experience with product reliability testing Experience with (rapid) prototyping using different manufacturing methods
