Corporate Engineer

The Corporate Engineer develops project scope, selects equipment, defines functionality, and oversees implementation and validation of capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects that require strong technical expertise. This role works closely with plant engineering teams and internal stakeholders to ensure projects align with customer requirements, regulatory expectations, and the broader business strategy. The Corporate Engineer provides expert guidance on complex engineering initiatives and supports continuous improvement across multiple manufacturing locations.

Responsibilities

  • Support and assist plant engineering teams with projects involving the installation and integration of complex equipment, piping systems, electrical systems, utilities, control systems, and packaging systems.
  • Develop and define project scope, equipment selection, and functional requirements for CAPEX projects in alignment with customer needs and business objectives.
  • Apply best practice engineering methods and provide expert technical guidance to ensure robust, efficient, and compliant engineering solutions.
  • Facilitate and manage project costs in coordination with local plant engineering teams, ensuring CAPEX projects stay within budget and meet financial expectations.
  • Ensure that all new or modified equipment meets validation requirements from process authorities and complies with applicable governmental regulations, including FDA-related requirements.
  • Support plant and corporate teams on safety programs and initiatives, helping to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to introduce new technologies and processes, particularly in food manufacturing, packaging, and GMP environments.
  • Lead or contribute to projects focused on process, packaging, aseptic, clean fill, and HTST technologies, ensuring technical soundness and operational readiness.
  • Identify and resolve complex, long-term engineering issues by applying superior problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Facilitate meetings, workshops, and project team sessions to drive alignment, decision-making, and progress on key initiatives.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, project reports, and engineering layouts using tools such as Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at various levels, providing clear updates on project status, risks, and mitigation plans.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects and tasks in a fast-paced environment, adjusting priorities based on business needs and project timelines.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • 6–10 years of experience leading projects and serving as a subject matter expert on installations and new technologies in food manufacturing, packaging, and GMP environments.
  • Expert-level experience in engineering technology, including process, packaging, aseptic, clean fill, and HTST systems.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Intermediate knowledge of AutoCAD or similar tools for design and layout work.
  • Intermediate knowledge of control network languages, SCADA systems, PLC programming, and OT-IT interfaces.
  • Strong project management skills with demonstrated ability to plan, execute, and deliver CAPEX projects.
  • Excellent facilitation skills for leading groups, teams, and cross-functional meetings.
  • Superior problem-solving abilities focused on long-term issue resolution.
  • Solid analytical skills for evaluating technical options, costs, and performance.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work strategically, collaborate effectively, and tackle complex challenges.
  • Self-motivated with a strong drive for results and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships and collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
