Electronic Lab Technician

The primary purpose of this position is to conduct mechanical and electrical testing to meet the demands of the engineering department to achieve product development, sustainment, and certification goals. This position will perform functions necessary to support product development and maintenance of line activities, which include assembly of products and test setups. Additional requirements include helping maintain lab test equipment, tracking test request status, and managing samples.

This position will also need to support all EHS requirements and 5S initiatives.

• Conduct various electrical tests in accordance with UL, CSA, IEC, and NEMA standards for electrical distribution products, as required, to meet the product development and sustaining testing demands.
• Maintain knowledge of applicable IEC, UL, and NEMA testing standards.
• Record accurate test data on standardized forms for delivery to the project engineer.
• Assist in the repair and replacement of test fixtures and maintain an active list of test fixtures on hand to meet the demands of the engineering department.
• Contribute to organizing and maintaining lab 5S environment to meet goals and to ensure maximum efficiency.
• Assist in the development and enforcement of safety requirements.
• Ability to work on multiple projects at one time to increase the efficiency in the lab and provide engineering on-time test results.
• Share knowledge with other technicians as necessary to improve the technician pool's core knowledge and capabilities.
• Complete additional assignments or tasks requested by manager.
• Conduct pre and post calibrations, run dielectric/thermal testing.
• Circuit configurations, and vibration testing.

• An associate degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechanical Technology from an accredited institution of higher learning is required.

• 1–3 years of related technical experience required.

• Electronic, mechanical, electro-mechanical, and software aptitude is required.

• Detailed skill in use of computer for test documentation and analysis.
