Our client is seeking an experienced Piping Designer to support complex industrial projects within the power and energy industries. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated professional with extensive piping design experience who thrives in a collaborative engineering environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in producing high-quality design deliverables while coordinating with engineering, construction, and client teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities- Execute assigned design tasks under the direction of the Group Supervisor.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, drafters, and project support personnel to successfully meet project objectives.
- Develop and complete construction drawings, design studies, bills of materials, and other required project deliverables.
- Plan and schedule design assignments while providing technical guidance, mentoring, and training to designers, drafters, and checkers on small to mid-sized projects.
- Manage assigned portions of projects and ensure work is completed on schedule and within quality standards.
- Coordinate with client representatives and construction personnel to ensure project requirements are accurately incorporated into design deliverables.
- Assist with engineering and construction estimates, project documentation, and drafting estimates.
- Review and approve drawings to ensure compliance with applicable codes, specifications, and company drafting standards.
- Maintain engineering document indices, drafting progress reports, and verify proper review and approval of vendor drawings.
- Support project teams by identifying design improvements and resolving technical issues.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or Associate's Degree with drafting coursework.
- Minimum 10 years of piping design experience within the power generation, energy, chemical, refinery, or industrial process industries.
- Strong understanding of piping design principles, engineering disciplines, and project execution processes.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Micro Station, or Revit, with the ability to learn additional design platforms as needed.
- Experience with CADWorx, Navisworks, and Microsoft Office.
- Working knowledge of Plant 3D and/or AVEVA E3D is highly preferred.
- Experience supporting chemical, refinery, power, or heavy industrial facilities.
- Strong leadership abilities with experience mentoring and supporting junior designers and drafters.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple assignments while meeting project deadlines with exceptional attention to detail.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Design, or a related field.
- Design/Drafting Certificate.
- Experience leading design efforts on multidisciplinary industrial projects.
