Senior Applications Engineer

Calgon Carbon Corporation seeks a Senior Applications Engineer to lead technical solutions for activated carbon and filtration systems in municipal, industrial, and environmental markets. In this role, you will translate customer requirements into engineered solutions, perform sizing and selection of equipment, support system design, and optimize performance for water, air, and process purification. You will collaborate with sales, manufacturing, and R&D, provide technical support and documentation, and drive continuous improvement while advancing sustainability and environmental protection goals.

Responsibilities

• Lead application engineering for activated carbon and filtration solutions in water, air, and process purification
• Translate customer and market requirements into engineered system designs and specifications
• Perform sizing, selection, and configuration of equipment and components for manufacturing applications
• Collaborate with sales, manufacturing, and R&D to develop proposals and support project delivery
• Analyze system performance data and recommend optimization or improvement actions
• Prepare technical documentation, drawings, and calculations to support projects and customers
• Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for internal teams and external clients
• Support continuous improvement, standardization, and best practices in application engineering
• Contribute engineering expertise to sustainability and environmental protection initiatives
• Mentor junior engineers and support cross-functional technical training
