Electrical Systems Engineer

This is for an Experienced Systems Engineer position in the Engineering department of the AMETEK PDS Electrical Power Distribution team. As a member of this team, you will be responsible for System interface of aircraft network system, aircraft interface device, computing device, electrical sub-systems, development Assurance (ARP
4754A), Validation & Verification and traceability of requirements. Also, you will be responsible for Systems design, system level requirements development, decomposing requirements, testing, and supports FAA certification documents. This role will be based out of Harleysville, PA.

Position Responsibilities

• Demonstrate excellence in development electrical sub-systems or high-integrity aircraft network system / aircraft interface device / computing devices
• Demonstrate excellence in System design, integration & testing.
• Demonstrate excellence in development Assurance (ARP
  4754A)
• Develop System test procedures.
• Perform Requirements Management in DOORS.
• Evaluate customer/operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, functional requirements and regulatory requirements.
• Apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify a lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions.
• Coordinate with engineering functions to define requirements related to safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialty engineering groups.
• Develop the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes.
• Resolve cross-functional technical issues.
• Present requirement, design and/or development revision and changes to formal change boards.
• Test and validate to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in an applicable engineering or science field is required as a BASIC QUALIFICATION
• Working experience in a couple of areas from the following:
• Network Systems:
  Connectivity systems/network systems, inflight connectivity systems, Wireless access points, Network file server, Wi-Fi, 5G, cloud, Data load, Health management BITE, Hardware requirements, cyber security
• Electrical sub-systems:
  Electrical Power Systems
  - Main AC, DC Standby, Backup Electrical Power, Electrical Load Management, electrical power generation, proximity sensing systems, exterior lighting, systems card files, window heat system, distribution, power conversion topologies and auto transformers
• Perform Requirements development, System Architecture, Design, Verification and Validation for airplane systems.
• Working experience on ARP 4754 & knowledge on ARP-4761, DO178, DO
  -160 & DO-254 Standards.
• Working experience on / MIL STD 704 & MIL STD 461 requirement is required
• Systems testing knowledge and Hands on experience in using test equipment.
• Hands on Experience on IBM Rational DOORS / dxl scripting / automation for productivity in requirements Management is required
• Perform System analyses activities for safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, regulatory and certification.
• Strong Written, verbal communication with engineers, management, and non-engineering support staff
• Experience in working with suppliers or other external stakeholders is preferred.
• Ability to work in a virtual team environment.
• INCOSE certification on Systems Engineering is an added advantage.
• Detailed knowledge of FAA certification and airworthiness requirements is highly desired.
• Experience in test planning, setup, test development, execution, conducting tests in a lab or production environment.
• Experience in performing design, integration, and/or testing on avionics sub-systems, performing environmental testing.
