Night Shift Automation Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Night Shift Automation Engineer to drive excellence in a high-volume, high-speed manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the operational stability, efficiency, and security of our automation systems and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deploy, monitor, and maintain automation hardware, operating systems, and application software to achieve plant KPIs.
  • Troubleshoot and provide technical support for automated manufacturing processes and equipment, including line control and robotic systems.
  • Specify and procure replacement parts and maintenance contracts.
  • Evaluate technology and equipment options across various manufacturing operations.
  • Test new or modified software programs to ensure they meet user requirements and guidelines.
  • Assist in the procurement and integration of new equipment and modification of automation software.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive hardware documentation for all automation equipment.
  • Develop, modify, or edit programs for process control, robotics, and HMIs.
  • Maintain and manage backup programs for all control processors, robotics, HMIs, and data systems.
  • Conduct technology research and provide insightful recommendations.
  • Install and configure new hardware and software, offering user training and support as necessary.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • 5-8 years of programming and troubleshooting experience with PLC automation and related controls.
  • Experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment is essential.
  • Proficient in Allen Bradley PLC systems and Systems Control Technologies.
  • Strong skills in programming and modifying PLCs and HMIs.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to interact with staff, vendors, and management at all levels.
  • Ability to prioritize and interpret work requests and work orders efficiently.
  • Experience in developing training materials and conducting training sessions for management, technicians, and users.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and intermediate computer skills.
