Constellation Energy seeks a Controls Engineer to design, program, and support control systems for power generation and energy facilities. In this role, you will develop and integrate PLC, DCS, and HMI solutions, optimize plant performance, and ensure safe, reliable operations. You will troubleshoot system issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement upgrades to support reliability, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance. Collaborating with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams, you will lead commissioning, create documentation, and support continuous improvement in a culture focused on innovation, safety, and sustainability.
Responsibilities
- Design, program, and configure PLC, DCS, and HMI-based control systems for energy facilities
- Integrate control systems with plant equipment, instrumentation, and SCADA networks
- Troubleshoot control system failures and perform root-cause analysis
- Optimize control strategies to improve plant performance, reliability, and safety
- Lead or support commissioning, startup, and testing of new or upgraded systems
- Develop and maintain control system documentation, drawings, and standards
- Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and cybersecurity requirements
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams on projects
- Support predictive and preventive maintenance strategies for control assets
- Identify and implement control-system improvements and technology upgrades
