Designer, Engineering Design & Technologists, CAD​/ AutoCAD​/ Mechanical Design

Responsibilities

• CAD Development:
  Assists engineers in developing CAD, physical models, and complex drawings.
• Project Coordination:
  Coordinates low complexity projects with regular review by Senior Designer, Lead Designer, and/or engineer. Creates and maintains schedules, reports status, organizes engineering documentation, and validates product, process, and equipment performance by coordinating small cross-functional teams.
• Verification and Analysis:
  Verifies layouts and drawings for accuracy, completeness, specifications, and accuracy of calculations and dimensioning. Performs necessary tolerance analysis and dimensional checks of designs, revising existing models and drawings as required to support engineering change activity with some oversight.
• Design Creation and Evaluation:
  Assists in the creation and evaluation of designs using data collection and analysis, engineering calculations, and testing.
• Troubleshooting:
  Troubleshoots process, product, or equipment problems to minimize downtime and recommends and implements solutions.

• Applies advanced principles, theories, and concepts. Contributes to the development of innovative principles and ideas.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
• Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles that may be involved in production, that include Marketing, modelling or technical plans.
• Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Critical Thinking using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
