* This position will primarily focus within Westmoreland & Allegheny Counties & can be based out of a number of our office locations within or close to that market.*

The Commercial Loan Officer is primarily responsible for developing, managing and growing a commercial loan portfolio and maintaining strong relationships with existing and prospective commercial customers. This role evaluates loan applications, analyzes the financials, and actively participates in business development while maintaining strong relationships with loan customers.

· Loan Evaluation:
Evaluate financial statements, tax returns, and credit reports to determine applicant’s ability to repay a loan.

· Business Growth:
Help clients find the right credit options for land purchases, operating costs, or equipment.

· Portfolio Management:
Track active loans and manage any delinquent loans by assisting with collection efforts as needed.

· Loan Structuring:
Design customized lines of credit, equipment purchases, and real estate loans for farm operations.

· Cross-Selling:
Identify opportunities to expand customer relationships by introducing customers to all Somerset Trust Company products and services.

· Business Development:
Build new business through networking, referrals, and representing Somerset Trust Company at events and organizations.

· Compliance:
Ensure compliance by adhering to all internal policies, procedures, and banking regulations.

Collaboration:

Positively collaborate with other lenders, credit analysts, loan processors, and other bank departments.

· Understand and support all BSA/AML responsibilities as applicable to the position as well as consistently, accurately, and timely carry out these responsibilities in compliance with the Bank’s internal policies

· Perform other related work and duties as assigned

· Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or economics.

· Three to five years of commercial credit analysis or commercial lending experience.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

· Experience using DNA is preferred, but not required.

· Proficient in using Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook

· Must be willing to learn new systems and adapt to emerging technologies

LANGUAGE SKILLS

· Ability to read interpret documents such as procedure manuals and release notes

· Ability to write business correspondence, and policies using proper grammar and accurate spelling

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

· Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.

· Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, bonuses, etc. using a calculator.

REASONING ABILITY

· Ability to apply common sense, understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.

· Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

· Organizational priority setting, and decision-making skills are also required.

PHYSCIAL DEMANDS

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to use hands and fingers to operate office equipment, telephones, etc.
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus
