The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) is on the lookout for personable, ambitious, and reliable professionals to join the team as seasonal Park Resource Rangers at the Kettle Creek State Park Complex. This position supports the safe and enjoyable use of Kettle Creek State Park Complex by assisting visitors and performing essential public safety duties. As a Park Resource Ranger, you will perform the following duties:

• Visitor Assistance:
  Meet with visitors to provide information about facilities, schedules, history, and environmental features
• Safety Response:
  Take action during emergencies and administer first aid as needed
• Patrol
  
  Activities:
  
  Travel the park by vehicle, boat, bicycle, or foot to monitor safety and explain park rules
• Facility Monitoring:
  Inspect park buildings and structures for cleanliness, serviceability, and safety hazards
• Administrative Tasks:
  Cover the front desk, prepare reports, issue permits, and maintain daily activity logs

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• This is a seasonal, full-time position with no healthcare benefits. There is not an option to buy into health care benefits. The season runs from approximately March 2026 until November 2026 at which time the employee will be placed on leave without pay. The employee will automatically be returned to employment in March 2027.
• Work hours are 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday - Tuesday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Overtime and travel may be required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Special Requirements:

• All positions require possession of an active motor vehicle license.
• All employees must obtain valid certification in standard first aid and adult, child, and infant CPR approved by the American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or equivalent within 60 days of employment.

Other Requirements:

• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

• You must pass a background investigation.
• This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
  • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
• Act 153 of 2014, this position is required to complete Child Abuse, Criminal and Federal Criminal History Checks around the time of hire and thereafter every 5 years.
