** Full-Time Police Officer

** Qualified persons are invited to apply to the Borough of Castle Shannon to take competitive examinations leading to eligibility for appointment as a Full-Time Police Officer with the Castle Shannon Police Department.
General Requirements:
Candidates, at the time of application must: (1) Possess a diploma from an accredited high school or a graduate equivalency diploma (GED) and have either a minimum of associate degree from an accredited secondary institution or 5 years full-time police experience.; (2) Must be Act 120 Certified or enrolled in Act 120 training and must pass the final exam before the date of hire.
(3) Be a United States Citizen; (4) Be physically and mentally fit to perform the full duties of a police officer; (5) Be at least twenty-one (21) years of age; and (6) Possess a valid motor vehicle operator's license issued by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The starting salary for the position is $74,846 (84hr pay period) and is accompanied by a generous benefit package.
Experienced applicants may be eligible for lateral pay incentive after probation. Top salary for 2027 is $118,875 (84hr pay period)
Tattoo Restrictions (must be covered) - no tattoos on neck or facial area. No visible piercings or ear plugs are addition, successful applicants must also meet all the requirements of the Borough's Hiring Policy that includes a background investigation, and if selected, be required to successfully pass physical and psychological examinations.
