Job Summary

The Floating Medical Assistant is responsible for providing top-quality patient care and administrative support across multiple locations. The ideal candidate is organized, compassionate, and thrives in a fast-paced, mobile work environment.

This position will cover both our Leola and Wyomissing locations.

Essential Functions
  • Travel to assigned clinic locations as needed to provide medical assistant support.
  • Room patients and update patient information into EMR system.
  • Transcribe for providers during exams.
  • Assist with biopsies and select surgical procedures.
  • Educate patients on treatment plans.
  • Assist with cosmetic procedures.
  • Complete prior authorizations for prescriptions, biologics, and procedures.
  • Stock rooms with necessary supplies.
  • Report biopsy, culture and/or lab results to patients via phone if directed by provider.
  • Sanitize all work areas throughout the day and after each patient.
  • Send patient visit notes to referring provider/PCP.
  • Answer incoming calls when not in a room with a provider.
  • Assist office staff with front end tasks if needed.
  • Assist with training new Medical Assistants.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements – Education, Skills, and Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; completion of a Medical Assistant program preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in dermatology or traveling role.
  • Ability to travel frequently to various locations (reliable transportation required).
  • Professional attitude and appearance.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Customer service attitude.
  • Experience with practice management software (ie EMA) and Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at times.
