Summary of Position:
Responsible for providing assistance with various health care services, for obtaining specimens, for conducting routine lab studies of specimens, and for assisting with administrative functions such as coordinating patient flow and scheduling appointments and phone messages. Serve as a trained preceptor for new medical assistant orientation and for instruction of medical assistant students. Join the Penn State Health Medical Group – Eastbrook office as a clinical staff member.
The Eastbrook team seeks a Medical Assistant II to join the ranks. Solely practicing family medicine, the office treats 40-60 patients per day. The hired Medical Assistant II will be expected to room patients, collect vitals, perform point-of-care testing and phlebotomy. Administering vaccines and assisting with minor in-house procedures will also be expected. Chart prep and other administrative duties are also required.
As the Medical Assistant II within the office, expectations of precepting and training are also anticipated. The ideal Medical Assistant II will be strong in time management and critical thinking. - Room patients, collect vitals, perform point-of-care testing and phlebotomy.

- Work as part of a team and independently; manage time effectively.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Current active status as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through one of the Penn State Health approved agencies for Medical Assistant certification required.
- Two (2) years of experience as a Medical Assistant in an outpatient practice or clinical specialty area required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or must obtain BLS Certification within 6 months of employment date.
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
- Associates Degree preferred.
