Job Summary

The Life Works Day School in Levittown, PA is actively hiring for certified Special Education Teachers for the  Academic School Year. We are now offering a $10,000 Sign-On Bonus for a certified Special Education Teacher. Life Works Schools are licensed specialty therapeutic day schools for middle and high school students affected by social, emotional, or behavioral health challenges. Our comprehensive, individualized curriculum engages each student throughout the day to achieve positive, pro-social behavioral and educational outcomes.

The Special Education Teacher provides academic and functional instruction to students diagnosed with Autism or Pervasive Developmental Disorder. The teacher monitors student achievement through data collection, observation, and other quantitative methods; observes and records student progress daily; develops and monitors the student’s IEP, reports, goals, and objectives; attends IEP meetings; establishes, maintains, and works toward student goals as outlined in the IEP;

and manages student behavior through individualized motivational systems, S.M.A.R.T. Program, and positive behavior support plans.

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education (required)
• PA certification in Special Education (required)
• Content area certifications preferred
• Prior experience working with students with behavioral health challenges within a school setting preferred
