- Conduct patient registration, secure required paperwork and insurance documentation, and verify insurance and patient eligibility.
- Process co-pays and schedule patient appointments for assigned centers.
- Coordinate provider referrals to assigned specialists.
- Answer patient questions regarding their care and keep them informed of their status.
- Inform technical staff of patient flow.
- Prepare patients for examination, interview to verify information, record medical history, and confirm purpose of visit.
- Perform preliminary physical tests (blood pressure, weight, temperature, etc.) and escalate critical cases as needed.
- Conduct point-of-care testing (e.g., flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG); provide patient information to providers.
- Stock supplies and maintain exam rooms, front desk, and reception area; ensure providers have needed supplies.
- Maintain supply inventory levels and check expiration dates on supplies.
- Maintain medical records and scan charts to patient files.
- Answer phone calls, manage daily correspondence, and ensure reception areas are well maintained.
- Conduct courtesy follow-up callbacks with patients.
- Perform opening and closing duties, including cashing out and securing the building.
- Follow operating instructions for daily controls and calibration of equipment; maintain QA/QC logs and submit repair tickets as needed.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Education
:
High School Diploma required;
Graduate of a Medical Assisting Program preferred. - Work Experience
:
Medical Assistant experience preferred;
Front Desk experience preferred. - Licenses/Certifications
:
Basic Life Support (BLS) required at the time of hire, through ARC or AHA. One of the following certifications required within the first 15 months of employment: CCMA, CMA, RMA, NCMA, or NRCMA. Also, CPOE certification for order entry is required within two weeks of start date. - In lieu of an approved MA Certification, we will also accept the following at time of hire:
Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing or LPN/RN; EMT () certification.
