Histology Mohs Lab Coordinator
We are open to hiring either a full-time or part-time team member, depending on the qualifications and availability of the selected candidate.
Position Summary:The Histology Mohs Lab Coordinator will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Moh's Dermatology department. The coordinator will be responsible for specimen acceptance, labeling, cutting, staining and documentation of Moh's specimens for microscopic examination by Dermatologist or Pathologist to render diagnoses. This includes various specialized techniques and staining procedures. This position, in partnership with the Medical Director and Technical Consultant, assumes responsibility for meeting all regulatory requirements and ensuring operational excellence in testing.
Education,License, & Cert:
Education:
Meets the educational requirements for issuance of a NYS Histotechnician or Histotechnologist license by the NYS Office of the Professions required.
License: NYS Histotechnician or Histotechnologist license required. In lieu of this, a NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist license, NYS Cytotechnologist license, or NYS Clinical Laboratory Technician license will be accepted.
Certification:
Certification as a Histotechnician by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) (HT) or ASCPi (HT) is preferred.
Histology experience required. Previous Mohs experience preferred. Experience with NYDOH and CLIA regulations preferred.
Essential Functions:The pay range for this position is $29.62 - $46.69
