Job Description(16 hours) 2 days a week (Monday & Friday) 8 am - 4:30 pm
Summary

Performs necessary duties which assist the Neurodiagnostic R. EEGT /Preceptor
Job Duties- Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
- Practice under supervision of R. EEGT/Preceptor assists in provision of care to patients
- Demonstrates ability to perform equipment set-up and monitoring under direct supervision of R. EEGT/Preceptor
- Assists R.EEGT/Preceptor with direct patient care as follows:
- Assists with neurodiagnostic procedures by preparing and setting up equipment
- Anticipates equipment/supply needs for the admission of discharge of patients in the routine EEG lab and also in the EMU. Sets-up and removes supplies and equipment from patient room for next admission
- Responds according to hospital procedure in emergency situations
- Demonstrates skill in use of EEG/LTM monitoring equipment
- Assists with work in the department, equipment room and EEG tech review area
- Professionalism/Leadership Demonstrates high standards of professionalism by maintaining a professional image in all they do
- Accepts instruction/guidance from preceptor and other clinically advanced personnel
- Participates in evaluation of self, peers, and leaders
- Incorporates into practice recommendations of evaluation by self, peers, and leaders
- Practice contributes towards achieving department based goals
- Demonstrates appearance and behaviors that promote a positive image of the Neurodiagnostic Department
- Address patients and colleagues with respect and dignity
- Arrives at work on time and is ready to start the shift
- Learning Identifies own learning needs and obtains necessary education to meet requirements of position,
- Examines successes and failures to improve performance
- Participates in identifying and meeting own learning needs
- Applies education and training to daily work to enhance job knowledge and skills
- Specialized Diploma Enrolled in an Accredited Neurodiagnostic school
- Measuring and applying EEG electrodes according to the 10-20 rule.

Lift and carry 40-50 lbs. Examples:
Push/pull patients on bed, stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force), lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of the patient’s weight. Frequent to continuous standing/walking. Patient transporters can walk 8-10 miles per shift.
* Patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
