Health Care The Clinical Education and Compliance Nurse leads clinical education, staff competency development, regulatory compliance monitoring, and quality assurance activities across CADES’ adult residential and community-based programs. This position is the organization’s primary clinical educator and compliance resource, ensuring staff are trained, competent, and compliant with applicable regulations, organizational policies, and best practices.
- Lead all nursing and clinical-related orientation programs for newly hired employees.
- Develop, coordinate, and facilitate clinical training programs for direct support professionals, supervisors, program managers, and nursing staff.
- Create and maintain standardized training materials, competency checklists, educational resources, and learning tools.
- Ensure all newly hired staff successfully complete required clinical competencies prior to independent practice.
- Coordinate and conduct annual clinical retraining and mandatory regulatory training.
- Provide targeted retraining, coaching, and competency validation for employees requiring corrective action, performance improvement, or remediation.
- Partner with Human Resources, Operations, and Nursing leadership to identify educational needs and implement corrective training plans.
- Monitor training completion rates and maintain accurate records of staff education and competency assessments.
- Evaluate training effectiveness through audits, observations, competency testing, and performance metrics.
- Monitor compliance with Pennsylvania Chapter 6400 regulations, organizational policies, and applicable healthcare standards.
- Conduct routine quality assurance reviews and compliance audits to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Assist in preparation for licensing inspections, regulatory surveys, and internal audits.
- Develop corrective action plans and educational interventions to address identified deficiencies.
- Track compliance metrics and provide regular reports to the Director of Nursing and organizational leadership.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives focused on health outcomes, medication management, and regulatory compliance.
- Oversee completion, accuracy, and timeliness of HRST ratings and reassessments.
- Monitor individuals identified as having elevated health risks and communicate concerns to appropriate clinical and operational staff.
- Analyze HRST data and trends to identify opportunities for proactive healthcare interventions and staff education.
- Assist with HRST training, competency validation, and ongoing support for raters and reviewers.
- Participate in HRST quality reviews and ensure compliance with established HRST standards.
- Lead medical record audits to ensure documentation meets regulatory, organizational, and clinical standards.
- Conduct medication administration and medication storage audits to ensure compliance with medication management requirements.
- Review medication documentation for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
- Identify deficiencies and collaborate with leadership to implement corrective actions and staff education.
- Monitor audit findings, track trends, and develop quality improvement initiatives based on audit outcomes.
- Provide follow-up monitoring to ensure sustained compliance.
- As a clinical resource to residential and program staff, provide guidance regarding healthcare procedures, documentation standards, and clinical best practices.
- Support implementation of new clinical policies, procedures, and healthcare initiatives.
