Job Details The Radiology Technical Aide performs a wide variety of routine duties including clerical, non-technical and patient related functions. Radiology Technical Aide is responsible for assisting radiologists, technologists, nurses and other clinical and support staff and providing a broad range of health care services such as: patient check-in, preparation for the visit, assistance with procedures, and patient transporting. The Radiology Technical Aide may be assigned to work in a variety of imaging sections, assist multiple radiology modalities and/or clinical services per operational needs.

Radiology Technical Aide is responsible for assisting radiologists, technologists, nurses and other clinical and support staff and providing a broad range of health care services such as: patient check-in, preparation for the visit, assistance with procedures, and patient transporting. The Radiology Technical Aide may be assigned to work in a variety of imaging sections, assist multiple radiology modalities and/or clinical services per operational needs.
Job Duties- Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
- Transport patients to and from all areas in the Department of Radiology, monitor patient support devices and provide overall patient care.
- Monitors patients when needed.
- Assist in Radiological rooms by giving blankets, bedpans, clothing changes, etc. to the patient and assist the technologists as needed
- Inspect and replenish stock and linen in all patient care areas.
- Ensures adequate inventory of stock & non-stock supplies.
- Prepare the examination room for the next procedure.
- Provides back-up to the front office and film room staff, and perform numerous “special projects” and clean-up tasks as assigned.
- Trains new transporters/escorts in proper patient care techniques.
- Procures appropriate patient documentation prior to leaving a nursing floor.
High School Diploma/GED Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals. Physical ability to lift and position patients and assist with patient transfers utilizing beds, wheelchairs or stretchers. Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects and meets objectives and deadlines Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and privacy.
Additional Qualifications:Physical Demands
Lift and carry 40-50 lbs. Examples:
Push/pull patients on bed, stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force), lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of the patient's weight. Frequent to continuous standing/walking. Patient transporters can walk 8-10 miles per shift.
* Patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
