Job Description
The Medical Assistant position plays a vital role in supporting providers and ensuring high-quality patient care. This position involves preparing exam rooms, assisting with procedures, obtaining patient information, histories, and educating patients on treatment plans. By maintaining clinical efficiency and upholding Dermatology Partners' core values, the Medical Assistant helps create a positive patient experience and supports the overall success of the practice.
Expectations
  • Ensure accurate patient intake, including history and chief complaints, with integrity and attention to detail.
  • Properly document exams in the EMR system to ensure transparency and accuracy.
  • Follow all medical regulations, HIPAA guidelines, and ethical standards in patient care and documentation.
  • Assist with medical procedures such as removing sutures, administering local anesthetic, and applying allergy test patches, always prioritizing patient safety and well-being.
  • Complete prior authorizations and medication requests efficiently to support timely treatment.
  • Schedule follow-up appointments with care and diligence, ensuring patients receive necessary ongoing treatment.
  • Respond to patient messages within 24 hours to maintain a high standard of accessibility and responsiveness.
  • Approach challenges with a problem-solving mindset, whether troubleshooting EMR issues, assisting with complex procedures, or handling difficult patient interactions.
  • Take initiative in completing start-of-day and end-of-day tasks, ensuring a smooth clinical operation.
  • Adapt to changing circumstances and responsibilities with resilience and a focus on learning.
  • Other duties as assigned – always embracing new challenges with a mindset of growth and service.
