at the present time, a vacancy exists for a behavior supports coordinator - iu programs position within the student services division of the chester county intermediate unit (cciu). The role is responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously refining comprehensive behavior support frameworks that ensure consistent, high-quality, and evidence-based practices across classrooms and programs serving students with complex needs. This position reports to the supervisor - acs cciu services and provides direct supervision to behavior analyst consultants, behavior consultants, behaviorists, behavior mentors;
and indirect supervision of registered behavior technicians and personal care assistants. This position is located at the child and career development center in malvern, pa. (due to the great valley campus still under construction, the selected candidate will start at the child and career development center in coatesville, pa until it opens) the coordinator leads the alignment of behavioral programming with instructional priorities, student needs, and organizational goals, providing direct supervision of behavior analysts and related staff while establishing systems that promote accountability, fidelity, and consistency in service delivery.
Serving as a key liaison with program leadership, school teams, and local education agencies (leas), this position builds and sustains strong partnerships to support proactive problem-solving, effective communication, and responsive behavioral services across settings. Through data-driven decision-making, performance monitoring, and strategic planning, the coordinator drives continuous improvement in behavioral outcomes, staff performance, and program effectiveness. This role plays a critical leadership function in overseeing functional behavior assessment processes, behavior intervention planning, and multi-tiered systems of support, while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices in applied behavior analysis.
In addition, the coordinator advances professional development, strengthens internal capacity, and champions innovative practices that enhance program quality, scalability, and sustainability. With responsibility for program performance, clinical integrity, and stakeholder collaboration, this position contributes to the ongoing growth, alignment, and impact of behavioral support services across iu programs.
the cciu provides services to the 12 school districts in chester county. This includes services to nearly 86,000 public and non-public school students and over 6,000 educators. The chester county intermediate unit is one of 29 regional educational agencies established by law in pennsylvania in 1971. Working between the pennsylvania state department of education and the local school districts, the intermediate unit's mission is to provide services that can be offered most economically at the regional level.
qualificationsmaster's degree in psychology, education, social work, counseling, mental health, or related field- required
currently certified as a board certified behavior analyst - required
minimum 8 years experience working in a behavioral health setting or related field
minimum 5 years experience providing supervision to staff
current police, child abuse, and fbi fingerprint clearances required
strategic and systems leadership
lead the design, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of a campus wide behavior support framework aligned with the mission of iu programs and multi-tiered pbis systems
serve as a member of the building leadership team, contributing behavioral expertise to instructional planning, problem solving, and continuous improvement efforts
facilitate interdisciplinary meetings with teachers, related service providers, and administrators to ensure consistent and high-fidelity implementation of behavioral supports across programs and learning environments
clinical oversight and staff supervision
provide clinical supervision for all aba-based practices to ensure alignment with ethical, supervisory, and professional standards
