Position: Licensed Outpatient Therapist  (LPC/LCSW)
Location: Milford

Behavioral Health Outpatient Therapist

Provide evaluation, treatment planning, and individual sessions based on clinical evaluations of targeted populations.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Interviewing new patients
  • Assess and treat patients
  • Establish positive, trusting rapport with patients
  • Create individualized treatment plans according to patient needs and circumstances
  • Meet with patients regularly to provide counseling, treatment, and adjust treatment plans as necessary
  • Conduct ongoing assessments of patient progress
  • Involve and advise family members when appropriate
  • Referring clients to specialists if necessary
  • Contact rehabilitation centers or human service agencies
  • Scheduling and managing appointments
  • Consult with Clinical Director on cases which outstretch areas of own clinical competence
  • Consult with Compliance Director on issues of compliance
  • Help with clinical activities
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Competencies
  • Clinical expertise: A Behavioral Health Outpatient Therapist must have a deep understanding of the principles and techniques of psychotherapy, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and other evidence-based modalities. They should be knowledgeable about current research, treatments, and approaches to mental health treatment
  • Assessment and diagnosis: A Behavioral Health Outpatient Therapist must be able to conduct thorough assessments of clients' mental health needs and diagnose any disorders that may be present. They should have the ability to analyze and interpret data to develop an accurate diagnosis.
  • Counseling and therapy: A Behavioral Health Outpatient Therapist should be able to provide effective counseling and therapy to individuals, families, and groups. They should be skilled in delivering evidence-based interventions, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, and motivational interviewing.
  • Cultural competency: A Behavioral Health Outpatient Therapist should have a strong understanding of cultural differences and how these impact clients' mental health. They should be able to provide culturally sensitive care and have the ability to work effectively with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Communication and collaboration: A Behavioral Health Outpatient Therapist should have excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare providers, such as psychiatrists, primary care physicians, and other therapists. They should be able to effectively communicate treatment plans and progress to clients and other members of the treatment team.
  • Professionalism and ethics: A Behavioral Health Outpatient Therapist must adhere to ethical guidelines and maintain confidentiality with clients. They should have a high degree of professionalism and integrity in their work, including maintaining appropriate boundaries with clients and avoiding any dual relationships that may compromise the therapeutic relationship.
  • Minimum Education al Requirements

    High School Diploma or GED

    Vocational School or some college courses

    Associate's Degree, Trade or Technical School

    Bachelor's Degree

    Master's Degree

    Doctoral Degree

    Qualifications, Training, Skills, Knowledge And/Or Experience

    (a) Each outpatient therapist shall meet the following qualifications:

    a. Will have to meet the criteria for being a Mental health Professional according to § 5200.3 of the PA code.

    b. Trained in a generally recognized clinical discipline including psychiatry, social work, psychology or nursing or rehabilitation or activity therapies.

    i. If the clinical discipline is not one of the above, then documentation proving the clinical nature of the degree is required.

    c. Current licensure in this Commonwealth in a generally recognized mental health discipline.

    d. Mental health clinical experience
