Biobank Scientist Kelly Science and Clinical has an opening for a Biobank Scientist for a engagement at one of our Global pharmaceutical clients in Spring House, PA. The role is eligible for medical benefits, paid time off including vacation (PTO), and 401K. Day shift on site Monday to Friday 40 hours a week Until the end of year – likely to extend Pay range $40-45 an hour
Responsibilities- Trained to use the specimen repository system.
- Receive the shipments for commercial, pre-clinical and clinical study samples at the Biobank facility.
- Maintain detailed documentation to track receipt and distribution of specimens.
- Communicate to the group if any queries regarding sample identity and integrity.
- Act as a liaison for the Biobank and other departments that utilize the banked samples. This includes sample transfer to the shipping facility and labs at the Spring House site.
- When required assist the group in freezer maintenance activity. This includes freezer clean up and defrost.
- To perform the sample inventory, sample pull request or barcode transfer within the regulatory system.
- Act as liaison for the Biobank and other departments that utilize the banked samples.
- If needed, assist the lab scientists for any trouble shooting for repository system concerns
- The position requires organizational skills, great attention to details, troubleshooting capabilities and flexibility to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of regulatory guidelines and "Good Laboratory Practices" (GLP) is a plus.
- This Biobank on-site associate position includes both hands-on tasks handling the biological material (frozen and ambient condition) as well as administrative tasks.
- Perform sample QC on a regular basis as and when new shipments are received for clinical, commercial and non-clinical studies.
- Participate in preventive operations on Biobank equipment.
- A minimum of bachelor's degree is required.
- Experience using Quality System processes, and functional knowledge of Quality and Compliance is required.
- Experience using Microsoft Excel and Word are mandatory.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills are required
