Per Diem position but FT training for 8 weeks (Mon-Fri days).

Job Description

The Radiology Technologist performs x-ray scans ofpatient's internal anatomy to aid physicians in diagnosing illnesses, diseases, or injuries. Executes radiologic services in compliance with relevant laws and regulations andprovidesconsultation advice to patients and radiology professionals. Delivers patient care and education before, during and after diagnostic imaging procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.

  • Appropriately positions radiographic equipment or x-ray film to produce images with necessary detail or contrast in order toassistwith diagnosis and treatment.

  • Explains radiographic procedure to the patient, obtains complete andaccuratehistory relevant to the examination to being performed.

  • Communicate effectively with the patient.

  • Provides staff and patient protection in accordance with prescribed radiation safety standards, including placement of shields/apronsin order tolimit radiation exposure.

  • Implements andmonitorslocal,stateand national regulations, standards,requirements and clinical protocols for radiologic imaging services.

  • Maintains x-ray equipment by performing scheduled cleaning/tests and documents results.

  • Maintains and updates patient and study information to ensure billing and RIS/PACS accuracy; handles patient records whilemaintainingpatient confidentiality.

  • Performs other related technologist duties as directed by the lead technologist,supervisoror manager, including those related to quality assurance and/or control.

  • Responsible formaintainingcontinuing education required for licenses and job positions

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Graduate of an approved American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) program orcurrent validated Registry from ARRT in Radiology Technology (R). ARRT (R), (CT) Preferred.
Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required):
  • Knowledge of RIS systems

  • Knowledge of PAC's systems

  • BLS Required

  • License as required by state
