Brethren Village Retirement Community, in Lititz, PA, is seeking a full-time Receiver / Purchasing & Inventory Coordinator
for our Dining areas.
The Receiver / Purchasing & Inventory Coordinator helps control food cost, reduce waste and spoilage, support vendor accountability, and maintain safe, organized, and service-ready kitchen and dining storage areas.
The Receiver / Purchasing & Inventory Coordinator performs a variety of duties to support Dining Services, including coordinating food and supply purchasing, receiving vendor deliveries, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring products are stored, rotated, and available for meal service, catering, and special events.
A valid PA driver’s license; proof of personal auto insurance; a driving record free from serious or excessive violation is required.
The Receiver / Purchasing & Inventory Coordinator must be able to safely lift up to 50 pounds; must be able to stand and walk frequently during an 8 hour shift; must be able to push supply carts; must be able to frequently bend, reach, stoop during an 8 hour shift.
Work Schedule
- Full-time / benefits-eligible: 40 hours per week; early morning and afternoon hours; onsite; occasional Saturday or Sunday hours may be required
Requirements
Core Requirements:
- a high school diploma or G.E.D., or currently-enrolled student at least age 16
- basic computer skills: the ability to access and navigate web sites, and use software, apps., and databases independently
- the ability to complete online training independently
- dependability: ability and willingness to meet attendance standards
- attention to safety: ability and willingness to consistently work in a safe and alert manner, and to report to work fit for duty; commitment to wearing protective equipment as required for the position and adhering to all health and safety standards
- commitment to treating each Resident, Team Member, and member of the Brethren Village community with respect
Additional Requirements for this Position:
- previous relevant experience in food service, dining operations, hospitality, or senior living
- experience in purchasing, receiving, or inventory control
- a valid PA driver’s license; proof of personal auto insurance; a driving record free from serious or excessive violation
- must be able to safely lift up to 50 pounds; must be able to stand and walk frequently during an 8 hour shift; must be able to push supply carts; must be able to frequently bend, reach, stoop during an 8 hour shift
- ability to use a computer, programs, and apps efficiently
- strong attention to detail, organization, follow-through, and time management skills
- ability to communicate professionally
- ability to work independently, prioritize daily tasks, and respond to changing operational needs
- Serv Safe certification, HACCP awareness, or similar safe food handling knowledge
