Resources for Human Development (RHD) is seeking compassionate, dependable, and motivated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our Residential Service System (RSS) team. In this role, you will support individuals living with mental health and behavioral health challenges as they work toward greater independence, stability, and overall well-being.

About the Residential Service System (RSS)

The Residential Service System (RSS) provides community-based residential services and supportive housing for individuals with behavioral health needs. Through a recovery-oriented, person-centered approach, our team helps individuals develop life skills, access community resources, strengthen relationships, and achieve personal goals that support successful community living.

Position Summary

As a Direct Support Professional, you will provide direct care, supervision, and support to individuals in a residential setting. You will assist participants with daily living activities, promote independence, encourage community engagement, and support the achievement of goals identified in their Individual Support Plans (ISPs).

  • Provide supervision and support based on individualized, person-centered plans.
  • Assist individuals in achieving goals outlined in their Individual Support Plans (ISPs).
  • Encourage positive decision-making and healthy behavioral outcomes.
  • Assist with activities of daily living, including:
    • Personal care and hygiene
    • Meal planning and preparation
    • Household maintenance and cleaning
    • Money management and life skills development
  • Administer medications in accordance with program policies and procedures.
  • Transport individuals to appointments, community activities, and other necessary destinations.
  • Assist participants with accessing medical care, benefits, social services, and community resources.
  • Promote community inclusion and participation in meaningful recreational and social activities.
  • Complete required documentation accurately and within established time frames.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff and interdisciplinary teams to support participant recovery and success.
  • Maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive living environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency with email and electronic documentation systems.
  • Ability to effectively support individuals experiencing behavioral health challenges.
  • Ability to successfully complete required background checks, clearances, and employment screenings, including FBI clearance when applicable.
Preferred
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in behavioral health, mental health, residential services, or human services.
  • Experience supporting individuals in community-based programs.
