Lead Sonographer - Pennsylvania

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Maintain a regular scheduled case load when not assisting Technical Supervisor.
• Assist in the technical training for new hires and existing staff, as needed.
• Assist in the management of designated technical staff scheduling, inclusive of regular schedules, on call schedules, holiday schedules, vacation schedules and other coverage issues.
• Expected to troubleshoot minor equipment problems and advise or initiate a service call as needed.
• Acts as a resource for other sonographers when clinical or technical issues arise.
• Responds to any issue(s) or complaint(s) arising from a facility, by being proactive in providing an immediate solution.
• Acts as a backup for any STAT request if a field sonographer in his/her area is unable to respond or report to the ordering facility.
• Escalates any issue(s) to the director of ultrasound as needed.
• Participates as needed in the field orientation of new sonographer.
• Required to perform other duties as needed.

• Must have and maintain ARDMS or CCI certification.
• Must have and maintain a valid state‑issued Driver’s License.
• Must have and maintain a good driving record.

Physically capable of loading and unloading portable ultrasound equipment from vehicle, and positioning patients for examination that may not be able to assist.

The employee is occasionally required to walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee may lift and or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
