The Radiologic Technologist (RT) works with Medical Providers and/or Medical Assistants with the examination and treatment of UPMC-GoHealth Urgent Care patients. This role is responsible for providing a variety of technical procedures and applying prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis for our UPMC-GoHealth Urgent Care patients. This role is responsible for performing and analyzing patient x-rays and reporting results to Medical Providers.
Additional responsibilities include providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of UPMC-GoHealth Urgent Care Centers. In a collaborative manner, the Radiologic Technologist will provide support to Medical Providers, Medical Assistants, and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization, and communication.
** Job Requirements
*** High School Diploma required
* Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technologist program required
* Basic Life Support (BLS) required at the time of hire, obtained through the American Red Cross (ARC) or American Heart Association (AHA).
* American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration required at time of hire.
* State licensure as a Radiologic Technologist is required at the time of hire (if applicable by state law).
* Inform technical staff of patient flow.
* Prepare patients for examination, which includes conducting interviews to verify patient information, record medical history; confirm purpose of visit.
* Perform preliminary physical tests (blood pressure, weight, temperature, etc.) for vital signs and escalate critical cases to the provider as needed.
* Conduct point of care testing as needed (i.e., flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG); and provide patient information to providers.
