Phlebotomist Needed – Federal Correctional Facility
Position OverviewBond Health Staffing is seeking an experienced Phlebotomist to provide on-site laboratory and phlebotomy services at a federal healthcare facility in Lewis Run, Pennsylvania.
The Phlebotomist will perform specimen collection and processing, assist clinical staff with patient flow, maintain laboratory records, and support the day-to-day operations of the facility's Health Services Department.
ResponsibilitiesPerform venipuncture, specimen collection, processing, packaging, and preparation for shipment to referral laboratories.
Organize and schedule laboratory studies and maintain accurate laboratory documentation.
Take and record patient vital signs and weight.
Assist physicians, physician assistants, and nursing staff with patient flow.
Enter and scan laboratory information into the electronic medical record.
Ensure laboratory requests and reports are properly completed, tracked, and filed.
Assist with DNA collection, vaccine programs, PPD updates, and other laboratory-related procedures.
Maintain compliance with facility policies, laboratory procedures, safety standards, and security requirements.
Assist with laboratory equipment, supplies, reference-lab coordination, and related administrative duties.
Valid certification to practice as a Phlebotomist in Pennsylvania.
Current CPR certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Experience with specimen collection, packaging, and shipment to referral laboratories.
Knowledge of laboratory recordkeeping and specimen-handling procedures.
Prior clinical experience required; correctional healthcare experience is preferred but not required.
Must be able to meet federal facility security, health, and orientation requirements.
