THE POSITIONAre you eager to lead a team that shapes the nutritional well-being of residents as the Director of Dietetic Services with the Department of Human Services? This role gives you the chance to guide a full food service operation that supports health, comfort, and quality of life at South Mountain Restoration Center. You will manage menus, oversee clinical dietetics, and ensure that every resident receives thoughtful, respectful care.
Your leadership will help create a safe, welcoming environment that values strong service and teamwork.
This position oversees the dietetic operations of South Mountain Restoration Center by directing food service activities, managing nutritional care, and supervising departmental staff. The role ensures that services meet resident needs, maintain safety, and follow all required standards. As a Director of Dietetic Services, you will perform the following duties:
- Menu Planning: Review and design standard and therapeutic menus that meet nutritional needs and support resident well-being
- Nutritional Oversight: Guide nutritional assessments and ensure services address physiological, emotional, and cultural needs
- Food Operations: Direct ordering, receiving, storing, and distributing food, supplies, and equipment to maintain uninterrupted service
- Staff Supervision: Manage staffing, scheduling, training, evaluations, and personnel records for the dietary department
- Safety Standards: Maintain sanitary conditions, inspect food service areas, and enforce safety procedures in all operations
- Budget Management: Prepare departmental budgets, review allocations, and ensure resources support quality care within fiscal limits

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three years of experience in the supervision of food preparation activities in an institutional food service or institutional food production operation, and a bachelor's degree in food science, nutrition, dietetics, food service, culinary arts, or a related field;
or - An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes three years of experience in the supervision of food preparation activities in an institutional food service or institutional food production operation.
Special Requirements:
- This position requires active certification as a Registered Dietitian (RD) or a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) as issued by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, or proof of eligibility for such certification.
