JOB SUMMARY:
The MRI technologist performs diagnostic examinations andassistsin other department related functions. Prepares patients for radiologic examinations.
Protects themselves, patients, and co-workers by conforming to MRI safety regulations set forth by the American College of Radiology and Cleveland Clinic.
Position is eligible for a sign-on bonus!
SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday (40 hours per week) Varied shifts from 6:00am to 7:00pm
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Takes thorough andaccuratepatient medical histories or reviews and updates current visits available.
- Strictly follows the American College of Radiology and Cleveland Clinic guidelines for contrast imaging.
Strictly follows MRI safety measures and protection devices tocomply with government regulations and to ensuresafetyof patients and staff. - Accurately correlates patients’ identification and clinical history with the examination being performed.
- Reviews and evaluates images todetermineif images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes.
- Safeguards andmaintainsall MRI equipment including coils.
- Explains procedures andobservespatients to ensure safety and comfort during scan.
- Keys commands and data into computer to document and specify scan sequences,adjusts transmitters and receivers foroptimalimaging.
- Records, processes andmaintainspatient data and treatment records.
- Assists with lifting and positioning patient.
- Reports unusual occurrences to the supervisor.
- Assumes responsibility for own personal continuing education and developmental needs.
- Displays a pleasant, cooperative attitude and working relationship with all patients and staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
EXPERIENCE/
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current MRI certification from ARRT required.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Musthave proficient computer skills.
- Must be able to work independently and plan and organize work.
- Must have professional and effective communication skills at all levels.
- Venipuncture certification preferred.
- Previous experience preferred, with at least two years strongly preferred.
