As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you’ll support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes and communities, helping them build independence, confidence, and meaningful daily lives.
If you’ve ever helped a loved one, supported someone in your community, or simply feel called to make a difference, this could be the right fit for you.
What You’ll Be Doing- Support daily routines like meal prep, personal care, and household tasks
- Encourage independence, confidence, and self-advocacy
- Assist with community activities, employment, and social engagement
- Follow individualized support plans and health/behavioral strategies
- Ensure safety, dignity, and respect at all times
- Communicate with supervisors and complete basic documentation
- Kind, dependable, and patient individuals who genuinely care.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
- Required to pass PA background clearances.
Many great DSPs come from backgrounds in caregiving, education, healthcare, or simply from having a big heart.
