The Surgical Scheduler enhances the patient/customer experience by courteously and professionally scheduling inpatient/outpatient procedures and/or surgeries. The Surgical Scheduler supports delivery of the Jefferson Experience by placing emphasis on the prompt and courteous treatment of all patients.

The Surgical Scheduler enhances the patient/customer experience by courteously and professionally scheduling inpatient/outpatient procedures and/or surgeries. Collect and review patient insurance information to include but not limited to: obtaining prior authorizations (inpatient and outpatient) and referral information and ensure all necessary approvals are in place prior to the scheduled surgical procedure.

Completes pre-procedure phone calls and confirms appointment times with patients via telephone. Provides patient with all necessary pre-operative instructions. Adheres to HIPAA privacy and security requirements. Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulatory standards. Other duties as requested or assigned.

High School Diploma/GED

Excellent communication skills.

Willingness to provide and support a positive Jefferson Experience for all patients and/or visitors.

Ability to process and interpret data.

Ability to multi task while managing a time sensitive workload.

Physical Demands Lift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use,
* patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
