This role supports clients and their families with daily activities and essential services. Under close supervision of the County Casework Supervisor, a County Social Services Aide 1 performs the following duties:

• Client Support: Assist clients, residents, and families with daily living activities such as budgeting, hygiene, nutrition, food preparation, and resource use
• Transportation Duties: May provide transportation for clients to medical, dental, and other needed services, and ensure appointments are kept
• Vehicle Safety: Offer basic information about safe travel in county vehicles, including seat belt use and maintaining control
• Confidentiality: Treat all information regarding consumers as confidential
• Clerical Assistance: Perform routine clerical tasks and assist with report preparation as needed

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Qualifications

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Graduation from high school; or
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience.

• Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Potter County. If no eligible candidates who live within Potter County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

• This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
• Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
