Human Services Licensing Representative - Central Region

THE POSITION

As a Human Services Licensing Representative with the Department of Human Services (DHS), you will play a key role in strengthening safe living environments for residents in personal care homes and assisted living residences. This position gives you the opportunity to travel, apply your professional knowledge, and make a meaningful impact across your assigned region. Your work helps ensure that facilities meet important legal requirements, and that residents receive proper care.

• Compliance Inspections:
  Conduct initial, annual, interim, provisional follow-up, and complaint inspections to evaluate adherence to state laws, regulations, and procedures
• Information Gathering:
  Interview residents, staff, families, and professionals, and review medical, legal, and program documents to assess compliance
• Technical Guidance:
  Provide operators and staff with advice and assistance related to regulatory requirements
• Documentation Preparation:
  Use computer systems to draft violation reports, prepare licensing packets, and maintain records
• Coordination Efforts:
  Work with agencies, supervisors, and other representatives to plan inspections and obtain key information
• Enforcement Actions:
  Monitor plans of correction, recommend enforcement measures, and participate in hearings when required

• Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
• Work hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Travel is required.
• Home Headquartered:
  This position will be home headquartered. You must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Central Region which includes Adams, Bedford, Blair, Cambria, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Fulton Huntingdon, Juniata, Lancaster, Lebanon, Mifflin, Perry, Somerset, and York counties. In order to be home headquartered, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.

• Two years of professional experience gathering and analyzing information in a social service or law enforcement program, and a bachelor’s degree; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

• You must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Central Region which includes Adams, Bedford, Blair, Cambria, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Fulton Huntingdon, Juniata, Lancaster, Lebanon, Mifflin, Perry, Somerset, and York counties.
