Respiratory Therapist - Respiratory Therapist

This is a 13-week contract position.

Night shift, 3x12.0 hours.

The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care by delivering intensive respiratory care and assisting in patient transport as prescribed by a physician, all while operating within the scope of their professional license and with minimal supervision. The therapist assesses patients and recommends appropriate treatment plans, articulating the purpose and procedures involved in treatments, tests, and equipment to patients, and offering educational support upon discharge.

• Conducting physician-prescribed treatments using ventilatory equipment, oxygen and aerosol devices, and nebulizer devices to deliver medications, humidification, ventilation, and oxygenation.
• Performing chest physiotherapy and suctioning as required.
• Monitoring patients' oximetry and capnography, and reviewing chest x-rays.
• Conducting pulmonary function studies and assisting with respiratory care procedures.
• Administering CPR as per BLS and ACLS guidelines.
• Documenting all relevant treatment records and communicating efficiently with attending physicians about therapy effectiveness.
• Managing and maintaining respiratory equipment effectively, including routine self-testing and preventive maintenance.

• Current ACLS certification.
• Experience with ventilatory equipment, specifically HamiltonC

• Ability and willingness to work independently.
