They are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join their team and play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for employees.

Position Overview

The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for the administration and processing of payroll while ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process payroll accurately and on time for all employees, including salaries, bonuses, benefits, and deductions.
  • The Payroll Specialist will ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records, including tax with holdings, direct deposit information, and other payroll-related data.
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources and Finance to ensure accurate payroll reporting and data integrity.
  • The Payroll Specialist will prepare payroll reports, audits, and reconciliations as needed.
  • Assist with year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation and related reporting.
  • Stay current on payroll regulations, compliance requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and efficiencies.
Qualifications of the Payroll Specialist Role
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field preferred.
  • 2–5 years of payroll processing experience.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and payroll best practices.
  • Experience with payroll software and HRIS systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
