Human Resources Generalist – Gracedale Nursing Home
Gracedale Nursing Home is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support compliance with county policies and collective bargaining agreements across divisions. The role reports directly to the Deputy Director of Human Services.
Essential Duties- Maintain a system to track employee attendance and disciplinary actions, including no call/no show occurrences, sick call‑outs, and excessive call‑offs.
- Review shift reports to identify personnel actions for tracking and follow‑up.
- Provide information to internal stakeholders regarding attendance and discipline issues related to union contracts, county policies, and work rules.
- Support the Gracedale Human Resources Department by cross‑training with other staff and serving as backup for related functions.
- Assist the Deputy Director with low‑level disciplines such as obtaining union representatives, reviewing employee schedules, and delivering attendance and late disciplines.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- At least three (3) years of full‑time advanced clerical work involving Excel and familiarity with Kronos, UKG, or similar attendance tracking software OR at least three (3) years of full‑time human resources experience focused on attendance tracking and delivery of disciplines.
- All hires required to attend Feeding Program training.
- Proficiency in Excel and maintenance of multiple spreadsheets.
- Knowledge of public human resources management principles and practices.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and attendance tracking programs.
- Thorough knowledge of records management, retention, and cataloguing.
- Ability to handle stressful situations and maintain confidentiality.
- Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
- Capability to learn state and federal labor laws and county‑specific HR regulations.
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, and staff.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
Telephone, personal computer (word processing & spreadsheet software), calculator, writing implements, fax machine, copy machine, and paper shredder.
Physical DemandsThe employee will frequently walk, sit, talk, or hear, and occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. Reasonable accommodations can be made.
Work EnvironmentThe environment is moderately quiet.
