Senior Systems Engineer – Server Virtualization

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer with deep expertise in server virtualization technologies, including VMware and Microsoft Hyper-V. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and optimizing our virtualized infrastructure to ensure maximum performance, scalability, and reliability. This role requires a strong technical background, advanced troubleshooting skills, and the ability to lead initiatives that improve system efficiency and security.

• Design, implement, and manage enterprise virtualization environments using VMware vSphere/ESXi and Microsoft Hyper-V.
• Administer, monitor, and optimize server performance, capacity, and availability.
• Perform upgrades, patches, and migrations for virtualization platforms and related infrastructure.
• Collaborate with storage, networking, and security teams to ensure cohesive infrastructure design and support.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across server, virtualization, and OS layers.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts to improve deployment and maintenance efficiency.
• Provide technical leadership in virtualization strategy, best practices, and emerging technologies.
• Ensure compliance with company security standards, policies, and industry best practices.
• Mentor junior engineers and serve as an escalation point for advanced technical issues.
• Document systems, configurations, and procedures for operational continuity.

• 7+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer or similar role, with a focus on virtualization.
• Strong hands-on experience with VMware vSphere/ESXi, vCenter, vMotion, HA, DRS
  .
• Proven expertise with Microsoft Hyper-V and Failover Clustering
  .
• Proficiency in Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and Linux server administration.
• Experience with storage solutions (SAN, NAS, iSCSI, Fibre Channel).
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals (VLANs, firewalls, load balancing).
• Familiarity with Power Shell scripting and automation tools.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle critical, high-pressure situations.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Relevant certifications preferred (e.g.,
  VMware VCP
  , Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
  ).

• Exposure to cloud and hybrid virtualization (Azure, AWS, VMware Cloud).
• Backup and disaster recovery solutions (Veeam, Commvault, or similar).
