Overview
Your tasks:
The position offers the opportunity to design and analyze cryptographic protocols with provable security guarantees, focusing on efficiency and scalability in real-world deployments.
- Conduct innovative research in applied cryptography and information security.
- Contribute to the development of secure and privacy-preserving protocols.
- Support and assist in teaching courses on computer security and cryptography.
- The PhD student is expected to have a MSc degree or equivalent, with a strong background in cryptography, network security and mathematics.
- We welcome candidates with strong foundations in cryptography and an interest in provable security, MPC, and privacy-preserving computation. Prior experience in protocol design or secure computation is a plus.
- Strong programming skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
The research group for Cybersecurity & Applied Cryptography Research Group is part of the Institute of Computer Science (ICS) at the University of St. Gallen. The group focuses on information security and applied cryptography, including design of provably secure cryptographic protocols and primitives for reliable authentication, outsourcing computations in cloud-assisted settings, network security problems and secure and privacy-preserving machine learning. As a doctoral student you will be part of the Doctoral School of Computer Science (DCS).
