Amazon Web Services is looking for a highly motivated Solutions Architect to help accelerate our growing State and Local Government business as part of the World Wide Public Sector practice. As a Solutions Architect within AWS, you will have the opportunity to shape and deliver on a strategy to build broad use of Amazon’s utility computing web services (e.g., AWS EC2, AWS S3, AWS RDS, and AWS Cloud Front) directly with customers and our ecosystem of system integrators and solution providers.

• Own the technical engagement and ultimate success around specific implementation projects.
• Define implementation architectures, respond to RFPs, and develop deep expertise in AWS technologies.
• Serve as a subject‑matter expert on security as it relates to customer applications and services.
• Provide exceptional technical design and thought leadership to customers while working with a world‑class sales and business development team.
• Lead efforts to capture and share best‑practice knowledge among the AWS solution architect community.

• Technical presentation experience – whiteboard, small and large group presentations.
• Web services development/deployment experience in cloud computing.
• Web site and services operations, management, and security.
• Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.

• 8+ years of experience in specific technology domains such as software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, or data & analytics.
• 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures.
• 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or internet industries.

• 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture, and networking experience.
• Experience architecting infrastructure solutions using Linux/Unix and Windows with recommendations on server, load balancing, HA/DR, and storage architectures.
• Experience architecting or deploying cloud/virtualization solutions in enterprise customers.
• Experience communicating across technical and non‑technical audiences, including executive level stakeholders or clients.
• Knowledge of AWS infrastructure.

Base salary range:  –  USD annually (USA, PA, Virtual Location – Pennsylvania). Compensation includes sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs).
