Support Technician - Distributed IT Environment

Location: Smithfield, Pennsylvania (Onsite)

Role Overview

We are seeking a Support Technician to provide IT support in a distributed factory environment. The successful candidate will work as part of a diverse team of technical experts, providing support across two local sites. This role involves resolving helpdesk tickets, performing hands‑on hardware and software support, and maintaining a high degree of professionalism while representing the IT department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide software and hardware support to desktops, laptops, workstations, and servers in a factory and lab setting.
  • Install, move, add, change, and dispose (IMACD) of equipment as required.
  • Install and maintain workstations with server OS, PCs, and associated software and peripherals.
  • Deploy new software releases, system upgrades, and patches, and resolve related issues.
  • Support dedicated network infrastructure from an operational and maintenance perspective.
  • Provide follow‑up on technical problems and escalation when necessary.
  • Support remote helpdesk tickets during downtime.
  • Travel between the primary site in Smithfield, PA, and a secondary site in Lemont Furnace, PA, as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience with Microsoft workstation/server operating environments, including Windows 7.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to resolve software and hardware problems effectively.
Work Environment

This role is based in a factory setting, not a standard office environment. The technician will be actively "walking the line" to provide support. The position requires travel between two local sites, and mileage for travel between locations is eligible for reimbursement.
