Position
Technology Coordinator – Frackville, PA (on-site, 12+ months)
LocationFrackville, PA – 100% onsite at 301 Morea Rd, Frackville, PA 17932. Candidates must be located in or near Frackville, PA.
Responsibilities- Troubleshoot automation and technology problems across SCI Mahanoy, and provide backup support to SCI Frackville, Allentown, and Reading PBPPs.
- Perform diagnostics on equipment, software, and network (inter‑connectivity) and recommend solutions.
- Co‑ordinate with technical staff and vendors for equipment maintenance and track service calls to ensure satisfactory completion.
- Restore data to file servers and workstations, maintain a problem log, and document findings and resolutions.
- Perform systems administration, maintain expertise in desktop operating systems, and configure computer systems to meet Department of Corrections (DOC) and Office of Administration (OA) specifications.
- Administer the network, manage user accounts and network resources, and maintain logs of network configuration.
- Maintain backup procedures for desktop computers and servers, and conduct system audits to ensure security and compliance with licensure requirements.
- Arrange installation and upgrade of computer and network equipment, including cabling, hardware, and software configuration.
- Serve as Facility Administrator of the GTL Tablet/Kiosk system, resetting pins, unlocking tablets, reporting kiosk issues, and coordinating servicing with GTL.
- Conduct annual inventory of computer and network equipment; use Service Now to record inventory results, manage returns, and ensure destruction of obsolete or damaged equipment.
- Provide technical assistance and training to users, addressing questions on equipment, software, and telecommunications networks.
- Perform liaison duties with MIS Bureau, Superintendent, Business Manager, and other departments; prepare reports and correspondence.
- Develop and design software applications, perform systems analysis, and organize implementation plans for institutional use.
- Manage automation equipment and supplies, review acquisition requests, coordinate with the MIS Bureau Pre‑Approved Acquisitions List, and handle vendor selection and ordering.
- Perform related duties and special assignments as needed.
- Preferred 4‑year college degree or 5 years of equivalent experience in technical support for hardware and software.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with call tracking, ticketing software, and managing support issues.
This full‑time, hands‑on position requires the candidate to work on‑site and is not eligible for remote work. Virtual Teams interviews may be conducted as part of the application process.
