Senior Network Engineer (3 days/week on site)

Our client is seeking a Senior Network Engineer who will be accountable for the strategic direction, architecture, deployment, and operational support of the organization's enterprise networking environment. This role ensures reliable, secure, and scalable connectivity across data centers, cloud platforms, corporate offices, remote locations, and field operations.

The successful candidate will lead the evolution of a modern enterprise network, leveraging advanced security frameworks, software-defined networking solutions, cloud-native networking capabilities, and proactive threat mitigation technologies. This individual will be responsible for delivering a network infrastructure that aligns with key objectives of security, operational excellence, simplicity, and future growth.

Key Responsibilities Network Strategy & Architecture
  • Define and execute the enterprise network roadmap in support of business and technology objectives.
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve a secure, high-availability network architecture across on‑premises and cloud environments.
  • Lead initiatives involving Zero Trust architectures, SD‑WAN deployments, cloud networking, edge security, and network modernization projects.
  • Establish architectural standards, governance models, and best practices for network infrastructure management.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and identify opportunities to enhance network performance, resilience, and security.
Operations & Service Delivery
  • Direct daily network operations, ensuring consistent service availability and performance.
  • Oversee support activities for LAN, WAN, SD‑WAN, wireless, voice, video conferencing, internet connectivity, cloud networking, security services, and contact center technologies.
  • Coordinate incident response, troubleshooting efforts, and service restoration for network‑related issues.
  • Implement proactive monitoring and performance management processes to maintain optimal network health.
  • Manage network asset lifecycle activities, including inventory, maintenance, upgrades, and relocation projects.
  • Ensure adherence to service level objectives and operational performance metrics.
  • Lead and mentor network engineering and support personnel while fostering a collaborative, high‑performance culture.
  • Partner with IT leadership, infrastructure teams, security organizations, and business stakeholders to support enterprise initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts by identifying recurring infrastructure issues and implementing long‑term solutions.
  • Facilitate organizational change initiatives related to networking and digital transformation programs.
  • Build strong relationships across technical and business functions to improve communication, alignment, and service delivery.
  • Manage relationships with telecommunications providers, technology vendors, managed service partners, and consulting organizations.
  • Participate in vendor evaluations, contract negotiations, renewals, and performance reviews.
  • Develop business cases, project justifications, and budget recommendations for network investments.
  • Ensure technology solutions are delivered efficiently, securely, and within budgetary expectations.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and evolving security threats.
  • Recommend and implement innovative networking and connectivity solutions that enable business growth and digital transformation.
  • Support enterprise‑wide initiatives focused on improving workforce mobility, remote connectivity, collaboration, and operational efficiency.
  • Align network capabilities with evolving business goals and strategic priorities.
Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in network engineering, network architecture, or infrastructure leadership roles.
  • Extensive background designing, implementing, and managing enterprise‑scale networking environments.
  • Advanced expertise with modern networking and security platforms, including:
    • Fortinet technologies
    • Cisco Meraki wireless solutions
    • Zscaler security platforms
    • Next‑generation firewalls
    • Solar Winds monitoring tools
    • Zero Trust architectures
    • Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) and edge networking…
